The project originates from the classic chain shape to investigate its contemporary transposition. Starting from the study of the technical-technological evolution of 3D printers, the most common shapes and types of chains are enlarged and declined through FDM printing referring to its typical "layer" construction. Improved over the years, the project thus shows its evolution: from thick layers to ever thinner, almost imperceptible ones. It is also the evolution of craftsmanship, expressed by the chain, and the evolution of the machine, expressed in 3D printing. The texture of the rings gets progressively larger and smaller, in circles. A growth that winds circularly, in revolution, alluding to that fascinating symbolism of the circle that is inextricably chained here.
